For optimal liver support, research suggests the use of at least 420 mg of silymarin per day from an herbal extract of milk thistle standardized to 80% silymarin content. The milk thistle extract in Critical Liver Care contains 80% silymarin (480 mg) with the added benefits of alpha lipoic acid, N-acetylcysteine, vitamin C, selenium and more. It is a comprehensive, natural approach for deep liver support.

Silymarin is a flavonoid contained in the dried fruit of milk thistle and is responsible for the health benefits of the plant. As with other bioflavonoids (antioxidant-rich plant compounds), silymarin is a powerful antioxidant and has been shown to help regenerate healthy liver cells.

Milk thistle extract may also protect the cells of the liver by blocking the entrance of harmful toxins and helping to remove these toxins from the liver cells.
